We’ve been proud to attend and offer coverage of several high profile events, including the NBA Summer League, The Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions, The Josh Howard Camp, the Jordan Brand Classic, the McDonald’s All America game and the Chris Paul Elite Guard Camp. It is our goal to provide unbiased discussion, scouting and reports on all aspects of the game of basketball. Marcus is the founder of BasketballElite.com and a member of the US Basketball Writers Association. He is also a contributor to ACCBasketballRecruiting.com, and his work has appeared on CBSSports.com, GreensboroSports.com, Dimemag.com, HighSchoolHoops.com and several other media outlets.

James Blackburn
James has worked with the Charlotte Bobcats in basketball operations and in addition to scouting for various media outlets and coaches, he also works the annual Josh Howard basketball camp and UNC basketball camps. James currently coaches basketball at East Forsyth High School.
Justin Shockley
Justin has a Master’s degree in Sports Management and Public Relations from East Tennessee State University. His Master’s thesis focused on the dynamic of how athletes use social media to communicate. He is also a contributor for sites such as ACCBasketballRecruiting.com and BleacherReport.com.
Andrew Macaluso
Andrew is currently finishing up the Creative Writing Program in the Department of English at Indiana University. He’s interned with and done work for Dime Magazine. Had an article feature on ESPN about Deron Williams and is currently a contributor for sites such as SLAMonline.com and EndangeredHoops.com. He’s the most optomistic writer on the planet.
Harper Compton
Harper is an assistant boy’s basketball coach at Bishop McGuinness in addition to coaching AAU basketball. Haper has added his coach’s perspective in scouting AAU, high school and showcase events for Basketball Elite.
Justin Byerly
In addition to his contributions to Basketball Elite, Hoopniks and Zags Blog, Justin is the senior basketball writer and analyst for Carolina Preps. Justin has become known for his tireless work searching for the grassroots and high school players in North and South Carolina. He also publishes several Top 40 lists for the area’s basketball prospects and has over five years basketball writing experience.
