This national high school basketball ranking combines multiple available polls for a period of time into a single poll, and creates a ranking for each team based on their average ranking, number of times they are ranked in the various polls, the highest ranking that teams has in those polls and the position ranking out of all ranked teams for the period. Read more about today’s cumulative ranking below.

Findlay Prep now owns the #1 spot across all polls and is the clear leader in the nation at this point. However, a little farther down in the pack, Simeon has come roaring back after an early-season injury to Jabari Parker knocked them from their #1 ranking in several polls. At one point a couple of weeks ago they were still ranked in the double digits, but now they are all the way back in the Top 10.
Arlington Country Day makes an appearance this week after showing up in two of the national polls.
The biggest discrepancy between the polls still remains between Prime Prep and Huntington Prep. When Prime Prep exploded on the national scene buy beating then-top-ranked Huntington, it created a problem for the polls that they still can’t agree on. Some have Huntington still ranked very high; others have dropped them but given Prime Prep a much higher ranking. It’s clear that the pollsters aren’t sure as a group how they feel about the upstart, and it’s clear that some pollsters aren’t willing to drop Huntington too far.
This week’s poll includes four sources: Hoopniks, ESPN, USA Today and PrepNation. MaxPreps also released polls during this period but I haven’t included them, due to the fact that they segment private academies from public high schools. I am not sure how, or if, I will incorporate their rankings back into the cumulative rankings.
Finally: In the poll listing, the ‘high’ value represents the highest ranking in any poll that team received during the ranking period.
‘Qty’ represents how many polls they were ranked in. ‘AVG’ represents their average ranking in all polls where they were ranked.
