Jeff, you would need to contact the operators of the event directly. Basketball Elite is not affiliated with the Florida Showcase.

It's actually 60% in some studies. There have been various studies by the player's unions, financial advisors and agents, referenced most commonly as 60% for NBA players and 78% for NFL players, which averages 69% for the two sports. So that's where the figure came from - but it's still extremely high. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1153364.

Author, could you please cite your source for "70% of nba players are broke 5 years after leaving the league"?

Or is this just your opinion (although not noted as such)?

Thanks.

@John.. The NBA is a private business. They can create any rule they want preventing teenagers from going pro right out of the league. I think people tend to forget that when they argue it's the player's right to decide to go pro. They have the right to play in college or overseas where the rules those leagues enforce allow them to, but the NBA has the right to postpone high schoolers from jumping straight to the league. Yes, there are some exceptions to the rule. Some high schoolers were probably ready when they were 16 (Lebron or Dwight Howard) but a 2 or 3 and done rule would elevate the NCAA game which has dwindled dramatically as of late and the NBA game as well.
