Portsmouth, VA was once again for the 63rd year the home for the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, an annual tournament featuring the top collegiate seniors across the nation. NBA scouts, front office personnel, overseas clubs, and agents show up in huge numbers to evaluate the talent on hand. Below are my All-Tournament teams and my MVP selection based on my evaluations.
MVP
Darion Atkins, UVA, F, 6’8″, 234 lbs
Atkins led the PIT in scoring at 20 ppg and was 3rd in rebounding with 10.3 per contest. He was solid and consistent each of the 3 games and was the best post defender in attendance. Dont be surprised if Atkins is on a roster next NBA season.
